Map wipe, BP wipe and force wipe — the difference

Rust has three distinct concepts that are often mixed up. We store them separately and never derive one from another.

Map wipe

A full world reset: buildings, loot and map progress are gone, and a new world is generated. Blueprints usually survive a map wipe.

Most servers wipe the map on a schedule: weekly, biweekly or monthly.

Blueprint wipe (BP wipe)

A separate reset of learned blueprints. A server can wipe the map without resetting BPs — these are different events with different dates.

If there is no confirmed BP data, the page honestly shows no data instead of copying the map wipe date.

Force wipe

The mandatory monthly reset from Facepunch: on the first Thursday of the month around 19:00 London time an update ships, and all servers must wipe with it.

A schedule is a plan, not a fact. An expired timer does not prove a wipe happened: a fact only appears from a confirmed source.
